G’s November Top 5 Movies

G’s November Top 5 Movies

Since this month Ghirardelli (i.e. me) wants to write a new line in this blog. During this month I‘ve seen lots of interesting movies (“Toy Story 3”, “Harry Potter 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7” (yeah still have not seen 2nd one), “Totoro”, “Spirited Away” (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) (2001), “Irreversible” (2002), “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2009)
“Megamind” (2010). Here is the top 5 of November.

5. “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2009)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

(Swedish: Män som hatar kvinnor, also known as Men Who Hate Women in English). It is a film adaption of a novel with the same name by Stieg Larsson (Swedish). Is a first book of his Millennium Trilogy. I like this movie with its interesting detective story. However it has its sick moments such as the rape scenes, but I guess it is normal for being a European movie.
A quality of video is amazing, because most of the scenes seems to be more like macro/close-up photography with a changing focus.
Rottentomatos’ tomatometer rates it 86%.
The critical consensus is: “Its graphic violence and sprawling length will prove too much for some viewers to take, but Noomi Rapace’s gripping performance makes The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo an unforgettable viewing experience.”

4. Megamind (2010)

Megamind

Megamind

Animated superhero comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and Red Hour Productions, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. If you want to relax and spend a good time with a family/friends – this is really it. Grab you all of them and don’t be greedy to buy a tickets for 3D seance, ‘cause it is really costs it. Story simple and truthful regarding heroes.
Rottentomatos’ tomatometer rates it 69%.
Critic Frank Wilkins tells: “The lively cast and interesting flip on the superhero concept make it a fun time at the movies for all ages.”

3. HP 7 (2010)

Harry Potter 7

Harry Potter 7

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” Part 1 (2010)
Epic fantasy film directed by David Yates, written by Steve Kloves and based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling.
I am surely not a fan of this movie/novels, however this one I liked. And in this part I finally see the good play of Emma Watson, ‘cause in previous ones for me it was more like an antics. Only one time during of the film I lost some parts of the conversations, when the old woman on the wedding was talking I was lost in thoughts about her make-up, is it really – all old ladies use so vulgar a make-up, but then I was back when remembered a queen of UK. And I was really sad when the Dobby was killed by Bellatrix. Ah, and I am pretty sure each girl dreams to have small hand-bag with big capability like Hermione does.
Rottentomatos’ tomatometer rates it 79%.
James Plath: “It may be the scariest, but it’s also one of the strongest in the series.”

2. Spirited Away (2001)

Spirited Away

Spirited Away

Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi?, literally, Sen and The Spiriting Away of Chihiro) is a 2001 Japaneseanimated fantasy-adventure film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. One of the coolest greatest fabulous cartoons. Amazing in story and creating way. And it is so true about it: Many of episods become understandable after repeating watching of the film. In generally I’ve seen it before, and this year already a few times. But I am waiting when I get the original dvd in English right now have Japanese/Spanish version only. The Takahashi Korekiyo residence in the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum was an inspiration for Miyazaki. Anyway when I see it it seems to me I’ve been there, at least I saw this building in my dreams.
Rottentomatos’ tomatometer rates it 97%.

1. Toy Story 3 (2010)

Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3

It is the third and currently final feature-length film in the Toy Story series. The film was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
The story, characters, everything is fantastic. Wanna to awake some memories and get a sweet tears on your cheeks that is the right movie to watch. I’ve been dying waiting the dvd release on November.
Rottentomatos’ tomatometer rates it 99%.
The critical consensus is: Deftly blending comedy, adventure, and honest emotion, Toy Story 3 is a rare second sequel that really works.

Ziggy’s Wagon and Animal House

Ziggy’s Wagon and Animal House

At night I was checking how to get those 2 badges and accidentally understood I might have them. Here the explanation:

Ziggy’s Wagon:

Ziggy's Wagoon - Food Truck

Try to remember where you have a near food trucks  and make check-in in 3 of them. But important – venues should be in category Food Truck. And it is not confirmed that check-ins in venues tagged “food truck” but not food truck category will bring you this badge.

Animal House:

Animal House

Just make a search for venues tagged “frat boys”, then visit 3 different ones and check-in there.

P. S. Too bad still can get “Warhol” & “Great Outdoors”. Well for “Warhol” not enough visited galleries. And I hope I figured out the Great Outdoors, but still not sure, need to visit all those 7 different venues which have main category “Park / Outdoor” But it shouldn’t be only parks.

My 3 New Foursquare Badges

My 3 New Foursquare Badges

Photogenic
You found 3 places with a photobooth!
So how to get this badge in Lima, hm very easy, guess each tourist can unlock this badge being in Lima in 1 or 2 days. First making checking at airport VIP Club Lounge – Aeropuerto Lima, and next day take a city trip and make check-ins in next two places 1. Larcomar and 2. Plaza mayor de Lima. The rule of getting this badge is simple: make check-ins in 3 DIFFERENT locations tagged “PHOTOBOOTH”. Just go to foursquare and make a search for “photobooth” and click tab “Tags”. Just like I do here:

Groupie
The Backstreet Boys of tech! The Menudo of the interne…. OMG! @NAVEEN JUST TOUCHED MY SHIRT!

That’s funniest badge ever. I was thinking I should first unlock 6 badges of one of the raw. But LOL it is much more easy. I found one help about unlocking this badge and here it is: http://foursquare.com/bizcard

♫Have a little fun… today!♫ Look at you, bouncing around town hitting up all of Ellen’s favorite spots! You’re practically BFFs!

Umm, I didn’t get complitely how did I get it. But first important issue is to follow this lady Ellen on foursquare and then check-in in some place.

And I wanted to get Bravo Newbie Badge, but it’s seems to be impossible to get that badge in Lima. Yeah there are some places tagged “bravo”. But as said one blog that Bravo also should leave a tip on the place tagged “bravo”.
