Yeah, my painting can tell many things about me and my inner universe. But I would love to notice something, some little facts…
…I am young painter, Yulia Katkova (1986, Oct. 27). I was born in Tashkent. As much as I remember myself I am painting, painting and painting.
1994-2005 – I studied in art college in Tahskent. During school time I took a part in different international art competitions, such as Indian 1993 & 1996, Japanese 2000, Egyptian 2000, Slovenian 2003 and UNFPA 2001 ( where I have taken a second place).
Since ?summer ?2005 ?I ?am introducing?my paintings ?and tapestries. And from that time I have ?begun to seek any person or gallery or?private collection who would love to promote my art, or to cooperate with me and to be a sponsor for my art.
In Oct. 2006 I with my mother moved to Russia, ?to St. Petersburg. For a?while could not find job, ?then found job in the supermarket, not for us?but ?we needed ?money. ? Worked there during 8 months. But during this?time we together also worked for my paintng, i.d. we made a friends, and people made the orders for my painting: portraits, landscapes. First order I got from one lady Kate, she wanted something interesting, outstanding, not usual… Ok, so it was first order and really I painted it long time. Since March till May… And really I had a problem, I could not get a right shot of her face. Then I just said myself that I will do it because I can… And I did it, but in that time I understood that I have anoter idea for her portrait. And when I needed one more sitting, she said me she move for one trip for a week, I thought ok, I have I time to put my ideas to canvas, and so one more another portrait appeared during 4 or 5 days. When Kate saw first portrait I said: You know I have one more portrait. And I asked which one she wants to take, she said she would take both… Since that time I began worked for order. Then in beginning of August 2007 we left the supermarket, and lived only with money we got from my orders, we both,?me and my mother searched fro orders.?But we needed something more, any job?that to not be so mad of orders.
So ?in Dec. 2007 we got a?work in one little gallery/artstore. Where I began?to get orders ?for ?painting,?and also sometimes I gave a masterclasses of paintings to people who asked… And we lived in such way till March, when everything changed one more time. Because of personal reasons I moved to Lima, Peru. And now I am here, working like a designer and continuing with developing my painting. But in this time I feel myself refreshed after all these changings and I am making order in myself… I have many ideas about my painting which I want to realize in close future.
